Mums Unstuck membership

Mums Unstuck membership for Muslim mums

I am beyond excited to share with you the doors to Mums Unstuck are finally open Alhamdulillah!

If you've been following me around on social media over the past few weeks you'll already know what this is all about. For those who haven't yet heard, let me fill you in.

Mums Unstuck is the first of its kind parenting membership subscription like no other! It's for Muslim mums who want to take their parenting skills and personal growth to the next level, insha'Allah.

They say it takes a village to raise a child...well I say it takes said village to support that mum in raising both her child and herself! Mums Unstuck will be that village for us all, bi'ithnillah.

Every month we're going to dive in deep to the issues that are going to help you raise your parenting game and feel confident about yourself as a mother insha'Allah.

We'll explore topics you might expect from a parenting membership such as confident parenting, boosting connections, overcoming tantrums, handling sibling rivalry and positive discipline. And more that you might not expect, such as how to coach teens through exams or how to encourage your children to adopt a growth mindset and reach their best potential, bi'ithnillah.

Mums Unstuck Is As Much About YOU As It Is Your Parenting

This is a membership that offers so much more than just parent skill development. It is a monthly journey to unravel the relationship you have with yourself and your own goals and aspirations beyond motherhood.

I hear from mums all the time who feel stuck. They want more for themselves and their children but are not sure what to do. They wouldn't change being a mother for anything, but somewhere along the way have got a little lost and forgotten who they are.

Mums Unstuck is for Muslim women who want to develop their parenting skills and know-how alongside doing the inner work on their own growth outside of being a mum. It is a parenting membership that understands how you feel about yourself as an individual massively impacts how you parent because when you grow, your children grow too.

You see it doesn't matter how many amazing things you and your children do and it doesn't matter how many great parenting strategies you might use, because if you don't feel good about yourself, you simply won't see any of it. You will see the molehill issues and turn them into gigantic mountains that paralyse you.

When you feel good about yourself, you walk different, your talk different, you PARENT different. And it is this difference that impacts your ability to be the amazing mother and role model you want to be.

A major part of Mums Unstuck is this journey of self-discovery, helping you through coaching to uncover your own identity, goals and aspirations outside of your parenting role, because you are more than "just" a mum. You are a servant of Allah, a wife, a daughter, a friend, a sibling and so much more.

Taking responsibility for your education choices....not everyone else's

Education quote

When I started home educating I was young(-ish) and like a lot of others around me, incredibly black and white. We had made the choice to not send our children to school and anyone who did, was doing a disservice to their family.
I look back at those early years now and consider them to be one of my biggest face-palm moments.

You CAN homeschool with confidence

Homeschool With Confidence for Muslim mums

Hey sis, yes you....the one who is doubting whether you really are cut out to educate your family without school. I have a secret to share......

Confident homeschool mummas are not born....they are BUILT!

We all want to be confident we're doing the right thing.
We want to be confident this thing called homeschool will all work out in the end.
We want to be confident we won't ruin the kids future and give them every opportunity for success!

The truth is, there is no way to know what will happen tomorrow, let alone five, ten, fifteen or even twenty years in the future. Whether we chose homeschool or school, those same concerns will still be there, it's just for some reason we seem to be a little more aware of them when we chose to home educate.

Confidence grows with time and experience. And you only get experience by pulling up your sleeves and jumping in.

I started homeschool when my first-born was four. At the time of writing this she is now fifteen. We have completed primary education from reception class through to year 6, and gone through secondary education from year 7 to year 10. She completed four GCSE's this year (12 months earlier than her schooled peers) with the rest to complete next summer insha'Allah. If you asked me all those years ago when I started if we would make it this far, I'd have told you no! Never in a million years did I expect I would ever homeschool, let alone make it all the way through to the end of compulsory education Alhamdulillah. Indeed all praise is due to Allah.

I'll tell you what has got me to my 11th homeschool year through all the ups and downs; the constant questioning of whether I'm doing the right thing along with the random attacks of self-doubt. If you have been following me a while you'll already have heard this story - but it's a good one to hear again and I love telling it because the lesson it gives has served me well, Alhamdulillah...

Preparing Your Parenting For Ramadan Workshop

Parenting in Ramadan workshop

We often approach Ramadan having high aspirations of what we'll achieve with our family during this time; excited to share our anticipation before welcoming the sighting of the new moon.
It isn't long however before reality hits us when overwhelm, burnout and frustration show up, as we face the challenges that come with parenting and educating children while fasting. And that's when feelings of guilt, shame, and inadequacy rain down upon our shoulders, thinking we've taken on more than we could chew.

I often hear from mothers who feel inadequate because they find it difficult to manage their frustration and patience. They find it difficult to maintain energy while fasting. They find it difficult keeping up momentum and motivation. They have high aspirations, wanting to achieve amazing things with their family, and beat themselves up when feeling they fall short.

We don't often talk about the everyday struggles of parenting during Ramadan because we focus on its benefits. And because we don't talk about the struggles, it leaves many of us with those feelings of inadequacy when we feel we don't live up to what we hoped we would, thinking no one else shares the same difficulties we face.

What I want to do through this workshop, is share with you how you can prepare yourself to manage the everyday parenting and educating of your children through Ramadan, insha’Allah. To help you discover what is important for you and your family so you can focus on those things. And to give you some simple strategies to help when you feel overwhelm and fatigue creeping in and prodding at your patience.

Interactive Workshop

Being a parent is the most rewarding as well as the most important job you'll ever do in your life. It is also the most challenging. In this interactive 2 hour workshop, you will receive practical steps to aid your parenting confidence so you can prepare to make this Ramadan a productive and enjoyable experience with your children.

Together, we will explore through mentorship and a little coaching:
  • What really matters to you
  • What really matters for your  family
  • Uncover what you want to walk away from Ramadan with, insha'Allah
  • Discover the mother you want to be so you can show up as that
  • Prepare a battleplan to overcome challenges and struggles
  • How to manage your expectations
  • Adapting routines
  • Learn to take control of your emotions and reactions
  • Learn to manage the stress that brings frustration and impatience along with the triggers that cause them
  • Finding motivation
  • Keeping children busy
  • Create your action plan

By the end of this workshop you will insha'Allah...
  • Be clear on your Ramadan vision for yourself and family
  • Develop your confidence as a mother
  • Have an action plan to overcome whatever struggles you may face
  • Have a strategy to manage your emotions and maintain a positive state of proactiveness, instead of reactiveness
  • Be your child's best supporter and ally through Ramadan
Ramadan homeschool

You will receive:

  • Live workshop
    A 2-hour live session
  • Recorded replay
The replay will be available within an hour of the live workshop ending, insha'Allah. Zoom is not required for this.
  • Workbook PDF
To benefit from the workshop, you have to take action. The workbook will help you do that, offering guidance together with some coaching exercises to put everything into practice, insha'Allah. It also provides detailed class notes so you don't have to worry about missing anything important during our time together.
  • Temporary Community Facebook group
They say it takes a village to raise a child. This temporary group will be that village for you to offer a little added support and motivation when you need it.
If after attending the workshop you run into difficulties, you can jump into our members-only group to get help troubleshooting your challenge and benefit from responses offered to others seeking help for theirs too. It will offer community so you know you're not alone and certainly I will be there to be your biggest cheerleader and offer guidance if it is needed.
It will be open from April 5th 2021, until E'id ul Fitr.

Parenting workshop for muslim mums

I have some questions

When is the workshop?
Wednesday 7th April 10:30 am BST (UK time) and the recorded replay available shortly after

Where is the workshop?
The live session is on Zoom. The recorded replay will be viewed in our own private members-only portal.

What is the workshop fee?
The cost is just £20 inclusive of the workbook material and after-support care on Facebook.

Can men join?
The workshop is strictly for women only. By signing up you confirm that you are female and will attend the workshop (whether live or recorded) where men can not hear, or to use headphones.

I don't have Facebook
You won't need Facebook to attend the workshop or access the materials. However, if you would like to benefit from the temporary after-workshop community support offered, you will require a Facebook account so you might want to consider opening an account solely for the purpose of accessing this.

Can I share my workshop access?
Tickets are for one participant only. It is not permitted to share or sell your access or materials with others.

Will I receive any physical materials?
You will not receive any physical products. The workbook is a PDF and the workshop replay is streamed digitally online.

I don't homeschool, will I benefit from this workshop?
Yes! The main theme to the workshop is setting up mums to feel in control and manage all the emotions that come with having children home. I won't be able to help with school-specific problems (this is beyond the area of my expertise) but certainly, supporting you with the everyday challenges of raising children once they are back home is where you will benefit. If you want help with that, along with preparing to keep children distracted and busy outside of school, this workshop will do that for you, insha'Allah.

Are you teaching Islam in this workshop?
I am not a student of knowledge so I will not be teaching about Ramadan as a topic Rather, the workshop is around preparing you as a mother for the practical aspects of parenting children and managing your emotions and energy during this time.

I'm ready! Sign me up!

Homeschool Planner quote

3 reasons why this planning kit is going to enhance your homeschool, insha'Allah

Reason #1
I've combined my experience as a home educator and work supporting home educating mums for more than a decade, together with my ongoing coach training in Personal Development and Education, to give you a toolkit to prepare your awesome homeschool adventures and overcome challenge, insha'Allah.

Reason #2
When I say this is the BOSS of all homeschool planners, it's because I've taken all the biggest homeschool problems I see in our community (overwhelm, burnout, struggling with a child who is behind, self-doubt, self-neglect, not enough time, an upside-down house) and put together the tools to beat them, offering the planning pages you'd expect alongside a whole lot more you wouldn't.

Reason #3
The fastest way to get results is with a mentor who has already achieved what you want to do or a coach who will help you discover the right track for you. But hiring either can be expensive. This is an opportunity to have the guidance of a mentor and several coaching sessions without the heavy price tag.

Reason #4
Unlike other planners, this planning kit not only helps you design and set up your homeschool experience and lessons, but it will also show you how to reboot when your mojo has taken a dip so you can get back in the driver's seat and enjoy the homeschool ride again.

Homeschool Planner quote

Homeschool Unstuck

Homeschool Unstuck a free Q&A for muslim mums

After over a decade working in our fabulous Muslim homeschool community, answering questions and lending out advice, I’ve noticed something. The vast majority of those questions and challenges are the same. It doesn’t matter where we live in the world or what our cultural background may be, the crux of our difficulties, anxieties and concerns are incredibly similar.

I wanted to do something more than just offer a few lines of advice in a social media reply, and have produced several free ebooks in an attempt to help provide some support and direction. However, I know that’s not enough. I want to do more. Sometimes you need to physically hear that advice and guidance instead of just reading it. Sometimes the spoken word has a more significant impact because the human voice brings about connection. There is something about hearing a voice that offers a greater sense of understanding.

Find Your Homeschool Confidence

Homeschool With Confidence online course for Muslim women

Are you looking for a beginners guide to help you start home educating or are you already deep in the homeschool trenches feeling stuck and in need of a reboot to help you fall back in love with it?

How would it feel to start building the homeschool of your dreams insha'Allah? One inspired by your own unique family; not mine or anyone else's; but yours.

I have BIG NEWS! I've reopened the doors to my signature course Homeschool With Confidence, to welcome the third cohort. And in my usual style, I like to up my game to make it even better than before with new content to add more value to your investment.

Homeschool With Confidence is a 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝟏𝟔-𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 programme, designed to provide you with detailed information, support and mentorship combined with a little gentle coaching, all in the same place. Allowing you to focus on building a happy thriving homeschool you are confident, excited and passionate about bi'ithnillah.

What Is Home Education?

What is home education?

Home education can be described as the parents' decision to take on the responsibility for the education of their children instead of handing that responsibility over to a school (although it should be noted that even in sending our children to school, it is still the parents who are ultimately responsible for the education received -not everyone always realises this).

Contrary to popular belief, this does not mean that homeschool is to study the same material as schools do but at home. Nor is home education limited to learning in the home in the same way that school is restricted to learning within the school.

What often comes to mind when people think of homeschoolers, are families sitting around the kitchen table ploughing through dull textbooks, trapped inside all day with no one to talk to. What they imagine is an awful and isolated version of school that no one wants to be a part of, but instead, inside the home.

The truth could not be further from this poorly imagined narrative.

While some families certainly do follow school-style curriculum at home, home educators are in fact free to educate according to the needs of their child and this can be done in many different ways...with or without a workbook...and beyond the four walls of a house.

Homeschool Planning For Muslim Mums

Homeschool Planning workshop for muslim mums

One thing I would say when it comes to planning homeschool, is try to make it a pleasurable experience for yourself. Give yourself time to do it, ideally undisturbed while the kids are busy, in bed, or off being entertained by Dad. Having this quietness without distraction is going to help you to focus and enjoy the experience. Grab your favourite drink, resources and planner. Set yourself up so you have everything you need in front of you at hand, and you're set to go.

But what if you're not too sure on effective methods for homeschool planning? What if you don't know where to start or what you need?

If you're looking for a homeschool planning 101, I'm your girl. I'm excited to be opening up the planning masterclasses from the Homeschool With Confidence 16-week course, to offer a 2-day workshop if you didn't want to sign up for the whole course series.

When it comes to homeschool, anxiety often flairs up when we feel we are not in control because we don't know what we should be doing. And an anxious mum makes for a stressful homeschool experience. I know myself, when I have everything set in order and ready, the week runs smoothly Alhamdulillah. When I don't, then my anxiety monster cranks his weight heavy upon my shoulders.

One thing I have learned over a decade of home educating is that planning doesn't have to be hard. Nor does it need to take forever to do. Certainly, you don't want to be spending more time preparing your lessons than it takes the kids to actually get through them. That would be madness! Homeschool planning can even be quite fun....yes, it can. Having a plan gives you a roadmap. It isn't inscribed upon a stone tablet that you're unable to deviate from. If you come across a more scenic route you're free to take it. But having the map helps you to find direction. This is what homeschool planning does. It offers a guide to allow you to move toward your objectives but doesn't need to enslave you.

Over two weeks, I'll share with you some simple methods for homeschool planning so that you can feel empowered and in control insha'Allah. I'll show you how to plan using my printable planner that you'll receive as an attendee as well as introduce you to how you can create your own custom made planner to meet all your unique needs, using an ordinary notebook.

Let's take a look at what we'll cover over the two masterclasses bi'ithnillah....
