Learning Surah Fatihah....and free printable worksheets!

learning Surah Fatihah with kids, plus free printable worksheets!
It goes without saying, that helping our children to understand the Qur'an is a fundamental goal in their upbringing. We all aspire for our families to not merely recite the Book of Allah as mere lip service, but rather with comprehension, action and desire to please none other than Allah alone.

To help my children's understanding of the Qur'an, we've been taking an ayah a "lesson", looking at its translated meaning and brief tafseer together. Discussing how this relates to our lives before recording it in a small note-book. You can read more about how we're studying the meaning of the Qur'an with kids as part of a morning basket routine....although it somewhat evolved to not always be in the morning!

The end of our Surah Ikhlas study - free printable included!

Helping our children learn and understand the Qur'an so they can act upon it inshaAllah, is important to every Muslim parent. We've been learning about Surah Ikhlas and to conclude our study, I created a small quiz printable as our finale, and you can download it too.

I don't typically test the children, however they are getting older and believe it or not, are asking for tests and grades.

Although I designed our Surah-Ikhlas printable worksheet to be used as a blind test, I aloud the girls to use their books to help them when they got stuck (you can see more of how we're studying the Qur'an as part of our Morning Basket time here).

My Qur'an Organiser is a simple resource to help keep revision and hifdh on track bi'ithnillah. There are 3 sections which comprise of:
  1. Virtues of the Qur'an - A place to record the many virtues of the Qur'an mentioned in the Qur'an and Sunnah. The purpose of which is to help develop some understanding of the blessings and favours of the Qur'an, in order to realise its importance and increase in love for learning it bi'ithnillah.
  2. My daily Qur'an Schedule - A place to detail one's daily review, new memorisation and reading. This is useful to help develop structure and routine.
  3. Tafseer and benefits - A place to write out the translated meaning of the ayat together with a short explanation of its meaning and benefits one can use.
It has been designed for use with a ring binder in mind so that you can just print as many sheets as and when needed, easily adding them to the binder. However, if you prefer, you can of course print a big batch of sheets and spiral bind together to make a note-book style organiser to use over perhaps a year. - Its entirely up to you.
